Cardioneuroablation in Italy: specialist evaluation in Milan and Lecce
Dr. Carlo Gigante evaluates international patients with vasovagal syncope, cardioinhibitory syncope, functional bradyarrhythmias and pacemaker alternatives. In-person consultations in Milan and Lecce, with remote preliminary review available.
Dedicated specialisation
Dr. Gigante's clinical focus is entirely centred on cardioneuroablation, vasovagal syncope, cardioinhibitory syncope and functional bradyarrhythmias — conditions that are frequently under-evaluated in general cardiology settings.
Advanced procedural approach
The use of extracardiac vagal stimulation during cardioneuroablation allows functional mapping and real-time endpoint verification — a level of procedural refinement not available at every centre.
Structured international pathway
Remote preliminary review of medical records, coordinated in-person evaluation and structured follow-up communication with referring physicians make the pathway accessible from abroad.
Evaluation in Milan and Lecce
Milan (IRCCS Galeazzi – Sant'Ambrogio) is easily reachable by international travellers via Malpensa and Linate airports. Lecce is served by direct flights from several European cities.
Second opinion service
Patients who have already received a diagnosis of sick sinus syndrome, AV block or vasovagal syncope and want an independent specialist review are welcome. A written opinion can be provided remotely.
Communication in English
Clinical communication with international patients and referring physicians is available in English. Written reports can be provided in Italian and English.
What Dr. Gigante evaluates for international patients
The evaluation pathway is designed for patients with specific conditions where cardioneuroablation or advanced arrhythmology assessment may be relevant.
Vasovagal syncope (recurrent)
Patients with recurrent unexplained blackouts, especially when cardioinhibitory or mixed mechanisms are documented or suspected. Loop recorder data is particularly useful.
Cardioinhibitory syncope
Patients with documented cardiac pauses or asystole during syncope episodes. Cardioneuroablation may be discussed as an alternative to pacemaker implantation in selected cases.
Functional bradyarrhythmias
Vagally mediated sick sinus syndrome, functional AV block and vagal bradycardia in younger patients where a structural cause has been excluded.
Pacemaker alternative evaluation
Younger patients considering alternatives to permanent pacemaker implantation, or seeking a second opinion before accepting a device-based therapy.
